I have respect for women as much as the next guy but a lot of the women rappers rap about usually gotta do with girls that fucked them over, or at least that’s what I’d like to think.
It’s EXTREMELY close-minded of you to assume that 99% consists of trash just because of the songs you’ve heard.
Have you heard Ab-Soul’s Double Standards that goes through the negative outlook that society has on women in regards to sexual interaction with the opposite sex compared to how men are viewed?
Have you heard Lupe Fiasco’s Intruder Alert that goes through the stories of a rape victim, drug addict, and illegal immigrant?
Have you heard Six Feet Deep by Geto Boys that describes the pains that a person goes through after losing a close friend to gang violence?
What about Nas’ I Can that is basically an anthem for the youth to rise up and live to their full potential not only physically but mentally as well, or did you miss this one too?
I can give you so many more examples about hip-hop with messages and real lyricism in it…even Tyler, the Creator came thru with 48 which is a story told through the perspective of a dealer who is aware he’s damaging the community with what he does but needs to do it to give his family and himself a decent life and means of income.
You really got no reason to say most rappers only rap about how rich & cool they are when you haven’t given it a damn chance into your life.
